| Glazing is really an umbrella term used to describe a variety of finishes including: color washing, denim, marbling, leather, and suede to name a few. Glazing is the most cost effective way to faux finish a room. We can use one, two or even three color to glaze…. The combinations of color and technique are endless.
Gilding or gold leafing is a great contemporary look or can be applied under a textures for an old world feel with a little twist. We have also gilded using silver leaf and copper leaf. Ask to see our samples.
Stenciling has come a long way! Gone are the days of hearts on the kitchen walls. Stenciling is now a true art that requires both talent and patience. We do word stencils (see our pictures of “golf courses around the world” ) or… we love to do bible verses or words on children’s rooms. Coming soon to the photos: “Lauren’s room”.
Stencils can be painted in the usual place along the ceiling line… but we like to shake it up a bit. Stencils also make a great “Frame” around a room at both the ceiling line and baseboard… or, they are a great Peek-a-boo effect to be seen under textures. We use stencils to paint on hardwood floors and the newest trend in stenciling is to use all over wall stencils to cover a room. Jennifer is a member of the SALI organization (the Stencil Artisans League, inc) and would love to discuss stenciling ideas for your home.
